Boise Moving Companies: Services and Booking Terms Compared

Compare local household moving options by what the crew will do, when the clock runs and which booking conditions need a written answer.

Before you compare

Where should you start?

Start with the work you need: a crew and truck, help loading your own container, packing, or a move involving storage. Then compare the minimum charge, travel calculation and booking terms for the same inventory and addresses. An hourly rate alone does not tell you which proposal fits your move.

This guide covers five businesses with published Boise-area services. Profiles are alphabetical, not ranked. The table summarizes provider statements reviewed October 22, 2026; it does not verify service quality or availability. Nearby-city coverage depends on the business and your route. Interstate moves are outside this comparison.

Which 5 companies are included?

Profiles appear alphabetically. This is a focused comparison of the reviewed source pool, not a complete directory of Boise providers. The points below describe company statements and practical questions for your own written proposal.

208 Moving Company

208 publishes a local billing formula and separates packing from the moving service. [M05] [M06]

Worth asking about: Consider when you want written clarity on the minimum and office travel.

What the company publishes

  • Its residential page names Boise, Meridian, Eagle and the Treasure Valley and lists the 1.5-hour minimum. [M05]
  • The FAQ charges office-to-pickup and final-stop-to-office travel at the hourly rate; travel between stops also runs on the clock. [M06]
  • It advertises payment after completion and no cancellation charge. Packing is separate work that needs scheduling. [M06]

What to confirm

  • Request the crew size, current rate, accepted inventory and written damage-claim terms.

Best of Boise Moving Company

Best of Boise publishes a longer minimum and explicit heavy-item boundaries. [M10]

Worth asking about: Consider when your inventory includes a large item needing advance acceptance.

What the company publishes

  • Its rates page says the hourly price depends on crew size, trucks and demand, with a minimum of at least three hours. [M10]
  • It bills in quarter-hour increments, adds a predetermined fee for items over 300 pounds and declines items over 600 pounds. [M10]

What to confirm

  • Confirm the item's weight and access, travel calculation, deposit, cancellation and damage terms.

Bluebird Moving

Bluebird distinguishes truck-based moves from loading or unloading a customer's vehicle or container. [M07]

Worth asking about: Consider when you already have transport and need a separately scoped labor quote.

What the company publishes

  • Its Boise/Treasure Valley page lists residential moving, packing and loading or unloading trucks, trailers and storage containers. [M07]
  • The published local rate structure starts with two movers and one truck, adds travel, and charges separately for additional crew and trucks. [M07]

What to confirm

  • Ask for the minimum, travel formula and labor-only equipment, deposit and cancellation terms.

BustNMoves Moving and Storage

BustNMoves lists Boise moves, storage and specialty handling on the same service page. [M11]

Worth asking about: Consider when a household move includes a storage handoff or a piano.

What the company publishes

  • The Boise page lists apartment moves, loading/unloading, packing, storage and piano services. [M11]
  • It describes local moves within 150 miles as hourly and offers written binding or nonbinding estimates after an assessment. The radius is its own service definition. [M11]

What to confirm

  • Confirm your local route, estimate type, travel charges, storage access and transfer fees.

Cross Town Movers

Cross Town lists full and partial packing, loading help and local Treasure Valley moves. [M08] [M09]

Worth asking about: Consider when you need packing or container-loading work within the region.

What the company publishes

  • Its homepage names Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Star, Middleton, Kuna, Nampa and Caldwell. [M08]
  • The FAQ offers loading/unloading, says the company does not cross state lines, and requires a booking deposit. [M09]
  • It states a 72-hour cancellation policy without specifying the deposit amount or cancellation consequences. [M09]

What to confirm

  • Get the minimum, travel formula, deposit refund rules and rescheduling terms in writing.

Making your shortlist

How should you compare a small apartment move?

Compare the minimum and the full billable period before comparing hourly rates. Give each business the same inventory, floors, elevator arrangements and walking distance from the truck. A short loading job can still have a minimum charge and travel time. Ask the business to show how those pieces appear in its written estimate.

  • List both addresses and every planned pickup or drop-off.
  • Confirm parking access and any building booking window.

Making your shortlist

What if you already have a truck or container?

Request a labor-only proposal that separates loading or unloading from transport. State who supplies the truck, protective materials and securing equipment, and ask what the crew will finish before leaving. A company's truck-based rate is not automatically its labor-only price. Keep responsibility for packing, securing and driving explicit in the agreement.

  • Confirm the loading appointment matches your vehicle or container access.
  • Ask which furniture assembly and packing tasks are included.

Making your shortlist

What if your move includes time in storage?

Ask for the complete sequence from collection to storage and final delivery. Have the proposal identify the storage location, access arrangements, handling charges and the business responsible at each stage. A move into a storage unit is different from a company supplying storage. Neither description alone establishes the total price or responsibility for belongings.

  • Ask how a delayed closing changes the booking and charges.
  • Identify restricted items and the written damage-claim process.

Making your shortlist

What belongs in a comparable moving estimate?

Send each business one inventory and one description of the job. Request the crew and truck allocation, minimum, billing increments, travel formula, packing scope and item exceptions together. Resolve unclear fields before booking. Comparing complete proposals helps you see differences without assuming the shortest minimum or lowest displayed rate produces the lowest final bill.

Take this into your conversation

What should you ask before booking?

Ask each company to describe the same work and put its price, exclusions and applicable terms in writing. Keep the proposal with the final invoice so you can see what changed.

  • Confirm both addresses are covered on your date.
  • Identify stairs, long carries and unusually heavy items.
  • Request cancellation, rescheduling and refund terms.
  • Keep the accepted scope and estimate together.

Research scope

What does this comparison establish?

We used public provider pages to compare advertised scope and terms. We have not hired these companies, inspected their work or obtained comparable quotes. Current registration, insurance and any route-specific authorization have not been independently confirmed. There are no paid placements in this publication.

Boise is the focus. A Treasure Valley service claim does not establish availability, travel charges or coverage at every nearby address. Confirm the contracting business and exact location directly. Publication of a term is evidence of what a company says, not proof of service quality.

  • We reviewed the cited provider pages on October 22, 2026. Published pages can change; confirm current written terms before booking.
  • These five reviewed businesses are a bounded source-based comparison, not a complete provider census or quality ranking.
  • No bookings, site visits, customer interviews, independent licensing/insurance checks or common-ownership audit were performed. Filters reflect published services, not confirmed availability.

Questions people ask

What else should you clarify?

Does a smaller minimum mean a cheaper move?

No. A minimum is only one part of the bill. For example, 208 publishes a 1.5-hour minimum, while Best of Boise states at least three hours. Their current rates, crew allocation, travel and item charges still need comparison for your actual inventory. This guide does not calculate a total or name a cheapest option. [M05] [M10]

Is travel time included in the moving rate?

Check the formula rather than treating an hourly price as the whole charge. 208 describes office travel and time between stops. Bluebird lists a separate travel charge. Ask when billing starts and ends, and whether your estimate includes every planned stop. [M06] [M07]

Do these companies require a deposit?

Published terms differ. 208 says it takes payment after the job without a deposit. Cross Town requires a deposit but leaves the amount and refund consequences unspecified in its FAQ. An unlisted deposit is not zero; confirm the terms for your date. [M06] [M09]

Can you use this guide for an interstate move?

This comparison is for local household moves. Cross Town expressly says it does not cross state lines; other businesses also market services outside the local scope. An interstate booking requires a separate review of the contracting business, route, estimate and applicable arrangements. Those checks were not performed for this guide. [M09]
